What is SPRS?
SPRS stands for Supplier Performance Risk System, a web-based tool the Department of Defense (DoD) uses to assess supplier and product performance. The system helps the DoD identify, evaluate, and monitor unclassified performance and meet regulatory and policy requirements. The government uses SPRS internally to help decide which providers to choose for government contracts, especially defense contracts. For the Small to Medium Manufacturer (SMM) or the Small to Medium Business (SMB), the SPRS score is a derived score that is a result of assessing the organization based on the cybersecurity controls noted in the NIST SP 800-171 (CMMC).
